The wind release is a hinge mechanism on each of the four ribs of each shade. The ribs are the steel members that hold the shade tight in operating mode. When high wind conditions develop an updraft causes the steel rib to fold in an upward motion and this loosens the shade and reduces the chance for upset or overturn. The shade mechanism can be re-set later in just minutes.
